Who We Are

The African Excellence Alumni Network (AEN) is an association that encompasses alumni from all the DAAD Centres of African Excellence. The main aim of the AEN is to foster networking and collaborations among alumni and Centres of Excellence through research projects, capacity building (for alumni), mentorship and support for current Centres’ students.
The AEN was officially launched at the 2nd alumni conference that took place in Akosombo, Ghana from 6th – 9th November 2018.

It is led by an executive committee that was selected at the 2nd alumni conference in Ghana. This team provides leadership to the association and is in charge of spearheading the operationalization of the AEN strategy. The 10-member executive is comprised of:
Antoinette Darko, Charlton Tsodzo, Winnie Sambu, Eria Serwajja, Helvi Petrus, Janet Ronoh, Robert Omondi, Nelly Kamunde, Patrick Mfossa, and Abisha Damba.
